  Nina knew how Kristin felt.  Amber had been with
them since she was six years old, which meant Nina
couldn't help but feel motherly love for the teenager.

 
  "I know what you mean," she said, looking at the
screen.  "But if these guys from San Fransisco are as
good as you say they are, I'm sure they'll find her,"
she added, trying to convince herself as much as Kristin.
