Children had allways been foreign and strange to the Soulchaser, but he always had a fascination and, though Julia is the only person alive who would know it, a soft spot for them. When one's existance revolved around sinners, demons, and infidels, it was nice, every now and then, to find a being of pure innocence, like Kat.
