"The guard at the gate will call me when you arrive." she said, wishing him luck before they both hung up.
Bryce hung up the phone and rubbed his temples, thinking how this whole ordeal was getting weirder and weirder. Why on earth did they want him to lie to his dad? And why did members of the Luna Foundation have a vested interest in going with him to Alaska?
Smokey put his paw on Bryce's leg, getting the attention of his owner and friend. Bryce realized that he couldn't leave his Husky home alone on this trip, and that his landlady wouldn't be too inclined to watch him. He decided he'd have to take his furry companion along, at least to the legacy house. Before they departed, he would probably have a chance to find a kennel he could stay in for a few days.
Bryce smiled as he scratched behind Smokey's ears. "Don't worry boy," he said. "We'll make sure someone takes care of you."
Bryce then got back to packing his supplies. For the trip, he packed light; a few days worth of warm clothes, a heavy parka, some gloves, a stocking hat, and a scarf. Any other survival gear or equipment, he could get at his dad's house. Of course, he packed up his camera bag as well. Then he called his dad and left a message, telling him that he;d be arriving a day later than he really would.
A few minutes later, he had his gear and his dog in the rear compartment of his Astro van, and set off, once again, to Angel Island.

When he arrived, Bryce showed the guard at the gate his credentials. The Guard Called Alex to announce his arrival and motioned for the photographer to pass through.
Once again, Bryce pulled up onto the Luna Foundation's driveway, things not as busy as they were the last time had been here. "I'll be back in a few minutes, Smoke, you just stay here," he told his dog, who was busying himself with a rawhide bone. Bryce got out of the van and walked up to the door of the large house, ringing the bell.
