The Soulchaser and Nick walked through the cavem with Bryce following close behind, givind directions to the area with the white wolf drawing. As he said the cave had been easy to navigate, as long as they were careful of ice patches on the floor of the cavern. By now, Soulchaser could sense the presence of Kristin, Derek, and the fading presence of Phillip, so it should have been smooth sailing. Somehow, though, the trio came across the form of Geoffrey Markham. For a split second, Bryce had his doubts. The big fella had said that his dad wasn't in the cave. It was extremely unlikely that they would meet by chance, and it even occurred to bryce that this may be that... thing trying to fool him. All the doubt was washed away, however, when Bryce gazed into his father's eyes. After that, the being could have told him he was the Easter Bunny, and the photographer would have believed him. "Dad!" Bryce exclaimed as he rushed to meet his estranged parent. Sensing the barrier between the supposed man and the photographer Soulchaser reached out as fast as he could and grabbed the hood of Bryce's parka, jerking him back. "What are you doing?"
