Derek hesitated for a moment before going around to
the other side and climbing in.  

"You shouldn't leave the keys in the car." he added.

Julia didn't say anything, just started to drive,
heading out of the gate from the house but, instead of
turning toward the ferry turned in the opposite
direction, until she reached a barely used side road. 
It had been obvious no one had used it since she had
last - it was a place she had always gone to after an
argument with Derek, to get perspective and to cool
down.

A moment later she pulled over and shut off the
engine.  They were surrounded by trees, flowers and a
clear view of the ocean before them.

What he had said about him being distracted had given
her an even clearer perspective on things, even if it
didn't solve the problem now.  But it did give her
something else to think about.

She sat back in the seat and looked out over the
water.
