Hello,

there is a plan to remove /deep/ and ::shadow support from the dynamic
profile in Blink (http://crbug.com/489954).
It means that /deep/ and ::shadow in CSS code will stop working in Chrome
soon.

I know, that Polymer provides an alternative in a form of custom CSS
properties. However /deep/ and ::shadow
are still used in implementation of several Polymer elements, either
directly (e.g. paper-slider/paper-slider.css) or
indirectly, by using classes defined
in iron-flex-layout/classes/iron-flex-layout.html (e.g. <paper-tab>,
<paper-progress>).

What do you think about that? Are you planning to eliminate usages of
/deep/ and ::shadow in Polymer elements implementations?

Thanks
