I don't speak for the team, however I have the following thoughts regarding this and similar requests. I don't believe the Polymer project will respond to out-of-the-blue access requests, nor do I feel they should freely give-out write permissions. Expecting to get access without either being employed by Google specifically to work on the project, or having a proven track record of high-quality work on the project, is naive at best.
