I use Rasberry Pi for other projects, but it won’t help for my current
applications. I use the JT65 and JT9 digital modes in conjunction my
logging software which is Mac based.

Looks like the typical "Apple knows better than you" approach, and they
should /not/ be tampering with the NTP reference implementation (nor should
Microsoft).
