Dear all, My name is SATO Taisuke and I am from Japan. I am operating some NTP servers and have added them to the pool. My Bitcard account is 'paina'.
Some days ago, I tried to add another server to the pool, however an error is shown and it could not be added. The hostname of the server is 'remy.paina.jp'. It may be a IPv4 reachability problem from the monitoring host of the project to our network. The error is : > 203.178.141.38 > Invalid stratum response from 203.178.141.38 (Your server is in stratum ). > Is your server configured properly? Is public access allowed? > If you just restarted your ntpd, then it might still be stabilizing the > timesources - > try again in 10-20 minutes. > > 2001:200:0:8807::26 > We couldn't determine which country this IP address is in, please specify: > [Pulldown box: "Select country"] > If the country of your server isn't listed, please email > [email protected]. As you may see, it is a dual-stack host and has IP addresses: IPv4 : 203.178.141.38 IPv6 : 2001:200:0:8807::26 The IPv6 address can be added to the pool choosing a country. (FYI: It's Japan) Unfortunately, the IPv4 address is not. Incidentally, the stratum which the pool web page detects is null. NTP service of the server seems to be working well. By way of example, 'ntpdate' goes well from another host which is in another AS network. > laika.paina.jp% ntpdate -d remy.paina.jp > (snip) > server 203.178.141.38, port 123 > stratum 2, precision -16, leap 00, trust 000 > (snip) > 11 Sep 00:36:18 ntpdate[61336]: adjust time server 203.178.141.38 offset > 0.000631 sec Moreover, other hosts which is in the same network results a same error. All hosts which have the same problem are in AS2500 network. Would anyone investigate reachability to the AS, or other doubtful points? Thank you. P.S. I am a native Japanese speaker, and I can translate English to Japanese a little. I am very thankful to the project. In return of using the pool, I will try to translate the web of the project to Japanese from now on. -- SATO 'paina' Taisuke <[email protected]> >From Kanagawa, Japan _______________________________________________ pool mailing list [email protected] http://lists.ntp.org/listinfo/pool
