If a version of Poplog worked in an earlier version of Mint, then whatever you
did to set it up there should work to install the same version of poplog in your
new version of Mint.

(Remember you'll need to include motif for the full functionality of Xved.)

First try to follow Waldek's instructions, If for some reason they don't work
on your system, you may be missing one or more required libraries or you may
simply not bbe going through the steps required to invoke the system.

If you can't get it to work I can send you the 'old' installation and setup
instructions, which you presumably used previously.

For the old poplog, before using it you had to run scripts (e.g. done in your
.login or equivalent file) to set up environment variables and modify paths.

It sounds as if Waldek's new system makes that unnecessary, but if it doesn't
work for you perhaps you can check whether the old version works in your new
environment.

The error messages you reported suggested to me that you were trying to run
poplog/pop11/ved commands without having set up environment variables and paths
required.

Waldek's latest message implies that he has tried to make all that prior setup
unnecessary, but it isn't working for you as intended.

In that case you could try the older startup process and if that doesn't work,
it may indicate that there's something missing in your new mint.

But your error messages suggested to me that you had not got as far as setting
up required paths and environment variables.
