Postmark.net was a webmail service that apparently added pop3 access
back in November. I just now learned of this.
I signed up for an account. The signup procedure was long, arduous and
intrusive, I thought. It begins on a page with a shorty form but the
next page brings up a monster profile form. At the end I got the idea
that this service will be sending me a lot of "opt-in" spam into my
newly created account. Still, it is free and we must not be fussy. <g>
There is no SMTP server with this service. However, I just accessed my
new account via POP3 and it seems to be very fast.
So if you just don't have enough free, remote POP3 accounts, and who
doesn't, then get yourself a postmark.net account and set it up for pop
access:
http://www.postmark.net/
POP = mail.postmark.net
SMTP = your local ISP's smtp server
