Hello everyone. :-)
I had a message from one of our members that he was having difficulty
sending mail through mailandnews.com smtp servers. Well, I just tried
to send something out and I too was rejected by their smtp servers. So
I played with it some and it now seems to me that you cannot send
through mailandnews.com unless you authenticate with your password.
This where your client logs into the smtp server with a password just
as you do when you log into a pop3 server with password.
Could someone else confirm this for me? Try to send a test message
through mailandnews without popping first or authenticating in any way.
If not successful, then try to authenticate. You can set your
preferences to do this in OE, Pegasus and I believe the most current
Eudora, as well. In most clients that have this capability, you set it
to send the same password as your pop3 password.
