1) a LAN is an internet connection, a permanent one (i should know, my
former school has a LAN and I connected to the net across it)
2) You have to go to mail.yahoo.com and sign up for Yahoo! Delivers to be
allowed SMTP and POP3 access. Server names are pop.mail.yahoo.com and
smtp.mail.yahoo.com
