Hi All,

On 6/29/01 at 11:59 AM Alan S. Harrell sharpened a quill and thoughtfully
inscribed:

>Holm, is there a Calypso support mailing list?

Indeed, there is:

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/CalypsoMail

I've been a member for many months but rarely post since I I haven't had
any problems with Calypso that a little tinkering hasn't solved. One of the
advantages of the Calypso Group was that the application's main programmer,
Tommy Evans, was a regular contributor. Intricate technical questions
therefore, often received answers straight from the horse's mouth.

>I know you are saddened by the news since this is your main client,
>but you have to give the nod to these people for offering their final
>version free to the public. This is a quality email client. I have
>a version of it on my drive and will update it now with this latest
>version. I really admire these people for doing this.

I'm still happily using version 3.10, which is probably over a year old.
The final release version is 3.30 which I will download and burn. On the
Calypso list a comment was made that the splash screen of the latest
release says 3.2 but the "About Calypso" correctly states 3.30.

>If anyone is using Outlook Express or something like NetScape
>Messenger as your client, you can take a step up and get a quality
>email client for free. Of course, Pegasus is also free and still
>being supported, but some people just do not take to Pegasus. If you
>decided against Pegasus, at least take a look at Calypso.

I'll be hanging on to Calypso like 'grim death' :>(

I figure it will be a couple of years at least until there's another e-mail
client with its ease of use, its orientation of dealing with messages,
instead of subordinating them to the intricacies of multiple account usage
as well as a host of features that make it a truly user-friendly programme.

A - always 'Calypso-ing' in Canada
