howdy,

my friend and i were talking about bands the other day--a conversation began
because of the sheer brilliance of d'angelo's long awaited follow-up to brown
sugar--and we came up with a short list of bands that haven't released albums
recently, and i thought i'd use you knowledgeable folk to find out whatever i
could about a handful of them. of the short list, these are the ones i
remember the two of us being curious about...which more or less means that
these are the bands that i am curious about. anyone, with any info or rumors,
i would appreciate your input...

ivy
weezer (as well as the rivers cuomo solo album i've heard about)
elastica
laika
maxwell

and the albums that were released elsewhere, but have yet to appear in the
u.s. (or, perhaps more correctly, in nashville tn)

moloko's i am not a doctor
towa tei's last century modern
elastica's ep
sleeper's last album

sorry for the name-dropping...i would offer a little padding, but i am
feeling under the weather. if anyone knows of a website or billboard that
would answer these questions, by all means, send it my way. hot tea,
recuperation, and a wasted night off work await.

grazi,

marvin
