Hello,
This is the first time I'm writing, so I guess I won't be considered a lurker from
now on. My ISP is quite slow so I have difficulty sometimes downloading heavy
mail. I'm very interested in those new Jap bands. One of my favorites were/are the
Boredoms. The last Jap stuff that I got to listen to was the soundtrack for Ghost
in the Shell. I've also heard Hefner, and I specially like Hymn for Cigarettes and
Hymn for Alcohol . Belle and Sebastian, have also caught my interest and I'm
curious how they'll change now that their bassist is quitting. My tastes are quite
eclectic- I just listen to anything that gives me a new experience. I'm a visual
artist doing work of a conceptual nature and do environmental design for money, but
I was also vocals for a band, here in the Philippines, deep in Southeast Asia,
called Poppyfield, admittedly heavily influenced by Jane's Addiction - now defunct.
Now I'm organizing a thing we call Sound Laboratory, a weekly closed session between
musicians from different bands ranging from poprock, ethnic fusion, hardcore, drum
and bass, with film scorers and some help from visual artists. Basically our
objective is to create spontaeous and ephemeral soundscapes and performances .
Well, I guess that's all I have to say for now.
