Personally I don't agree with your statement. Yes, they made a ton of money.
Good for them (and their managers, songwriters, pr-people and so on and so
on). But it doesn't mean that they should be slagged off as a crap band. The
band makes excellent popmusic. Catchy as hell and full of hooks. It is not
because they made so many hit singles, that they should be deemed worthless.
Actually turn it around, maybe because they make so many hits, there must be
something good about the music...
David Bowie? He has already been rewarded for his contribution to the
music-world. And let's not forget his eighties period. Which wasn't too hot,
if you ask me, he obviously was into making money as well. That doesn't mean
I think making money is wrong though.
