The band, tristeza, is basically an instrumental indie-rock band. their name is actually spelled with a Z...but it's an easy mistake to make [tristessa] seeing as they're named after the kerouac book "Tristessa". They're instrumental...with a good and somewhat unique guitar tone, in my opinion. Laid-back, driving melodies... They're from San Diego predominately, with at least one member from Michigan. They have a full length called Spine and Sensory that came out on Makoto Recordings [a small label based in Kalamazoo, Michigan] last year [i'm almost positive]. They're quite popular...for a small indie band. I believe that they've toured with Godspeed You Black Emperor. Yeah...that's about all I know. And that they're playing here in Detroit next week.
