PoDoFo (in which I am also involved) is a different type of
library than Poppler. While Poppler is also about READING PDFs and
working with their contents - PoDoFo is about PDF creation and
manipulation. Like the differences between JPEDAL & iText in the Java worlds.
Also, you might try http://pybrary.net/pyPdf/ (also haven't used it myself).
That's one I wasn't familiar with - thanks for the link!
