Just wanted to point out that OpenJDK 9 and the HotSpot therein currently only support PPC64 natively. If you need 32-bit PPC support you need to use the Zero/Shark port and if you will decide to use that you better use IcedTea. In general, porting the HotSpot Zero port for PPC to Amiga should be about an order of magnitude easier than porting the HotSpot PPC64 port.
