Hey, Matt here. I'm helping coordinate the Django pdxpython.org project at hack nights. I can see the pros and cons of a Python specific jobs board. I do tend to think duplication of effort is not good. Maybe we can build something that serves a different purpose? Our community has a genuine interest in mentorship and I think a board to connect new Pythonistas and Djangonauts with skill building opportunities would be a great help. It may be best to stipulate open source projects only to avoid any exploitation. What do you all think?
Also, regarding it being hard to find Python / Django contractors in Portland, throw those jobs up on this list! I check here on a regular basis as do a few contractors I know. I also try to forward projects to other devs in my network who I think would be a good fit. Thanks!!
