Another dimension to this is the migration to python3 as default python version in future, which would be facilitated by adding python3 flavors to ports where that is possible. That would provide a clearer picture of the state of affairs. That said, I don't have a strong position on this question, and I don't really care much for the python3 flavor of this particular port. Do you want me to revert the change?
