Then what is the purpose of having four older (and still supported) versions of 
Posgresql client/server in pkg at all?

As mentioned in my prior email, I’ve submitted a patch which allows to flavor 
p5-DBD-Pg to lock it inline with a specific version of Pg server, I’ve tested 
it with portlint and poudriere testport.  The manifests correctly show that the 
various versions are tied to the older versions of PG if you use those flavors, 
but the default package retains the current behavior.

This would not be much extra effort on the build clusters and mirrors, could it 
please be accepted?
