Hi,
This has annoyed me for a while. In gaim (net/gaim) if you copy and
paste from one chat window to another (using either the gtk clipboard
or the plain old X clipboard middle click style), when you paste ,a
html fragment is included. You then have to strip this off.
Here is an example:
(19:10:38) vext01: font color="#16569E">(19:10:33) vext01: test
This was a previously sent chat message pasted into the input box.
I cant verify this is an OpenBSD only bug, as I dont have another OS at hand.

Edd
I have had no problems on Windows, as far as I remember (I can't verify
now, unfortunately) . However, on OpenBSD, I do observe the problem you
describe with all recent versions of gaim, including 1.5.0 -- this is
when you copy a message already sent/received and paste it into the box
where messages yet to be sent are written.
I observe one more problem -- if you select text (no matter GTK or X
clipboard) from the box where the message is written and try to paste
into another message typing box, you lose the first symbol of the text.
If you copy from another application, however (thunderbird, xterm) and
paste into the message typing box, no symbols are lost.
Both problems are observed when gaim is being run also on FreeBSD 4.10
Both problems are observed when gaim from OpenBSD is run in the FreeBSD
X server and vice versa.
So, I think it's a gaim problem after all. And it is reported here:
