I have been muddling through a port of Bacula 1.36.3 on AMD64, since I
did not see it in the ports tree in the first place. Although the
Bacula authors claim that only the client (File Daemon) is known to
operate on OpenBSD, I am operating the Storage Daemon and Director on
my machine with no problems. (Caveat: this is a disk-only backup
configuration, no tape drive is attached.) This port is now operating
correctly, though I'm still working my way through the PLIST and other
bits and pieces of extranea that are required to have an actual port.
I'm still working my way through the checklist, but wanted to ask a
couple of questions:

a) Based on the location of Amanda in the ports tree, I have
tentatively placed this port in misc/. Should it be there? Perhaps
there could be a "backup" category in the ports tree?

b) Is anyone else currently working on porting this software?

c) Bacula supports running certain daemons (director, storage daemon)
as non-privileged users. I would like to assign a UID and GID to
"_bacula". Is it better to do that now, or wait until the port is
committed?

Thanks!
