I (personal opinion) don't like useless updates as they don't buy us
anything but just cost time. Seeing the submissions on ports@ I have to
admit that we do a lousy job taking care of useful updates or new
submissions, but then we don't have any rating system or anything else,
that would guide us. Whenenver I have time to work on submissions, I try
to find the most important things no one else is working on, and deal
with them.

Well, on the one hand, every committer does what he wants but on the
other hand, there are submissions that are important for the project. I
cannot tell others what to work on, I can just tell them I wouldn't do
this or that and hope they do something sensible.
