Greetings, libffi is required for jamvm-1.4.2/amd64 (update to be announced shortly.)
You can get the port from: http://www.druseikis.com/OpenBSD/ports/libffi.tar.gz; it's attached to this e-mail as well.
For the purpose of building jamvm the port itself should be put under devel/libffi;
This port passes the basic sanity tests and works with jamvm/amd64 as well, QED.
On i386 however it does not pass the basic sanity-check tests because of known issues with gcc-3.3.5 struct result passing for smallish C-language types in certain cases. You can read my synopsis in the README
