by that line of reasoning, you would not have any flavors. in any case, it's a matter of preference... i've always liked mplayer's reasonably small footprint, and would not like to see it grow too much, if possible. the changelog mentions that the speex support is only experimental, so i see no reason to add it by default. libmpcdec? i don't use it, but if you and other people use it often, sure. steven Disclaimer: http://www.kuleuven.be/cwis/email_disclaimer.htm
