ah, building this (actually, just untarring it over nfs...!) is a pretty good way to cause my HT1000 chipset boards to crash when I forget to disable ehci and ohci after updating to a new kernel (-: that's good though, because now I know the same thing happens on non-MP kernels and without any extra ppb(4). well, apart from that (which is irrelevant to the port), I haven't seen any problems on my fast arch boxes or sparc64.
