I happen to have the exact machine and has been using OpenBSD sinc 6.5
on it since no other Linux or BSD distribution has good support for the
box. The base system has definitely been working fine, though it's
package is very lacking because the machine is super slow by today's
standard and the packages may take months to be built and made
available. So I mainly just build my own packages from ports using dpb
with proot, which takes about a week to get Emacs and dependencies ready
so that I can use Gnus to get mails from the mailing lists. Here is a
blog[1] that can help you set up the tools.

I have been following the these instructions[2], especially under the
section "Using CVS to Get and Update Your Source Trees" which has both
instructions for -current and -stable.

HTH.
