I tested this for a while on amd64 with applications like
audacious, calibre, keepassxc and trojita. Works fine here and diff
looks good to, except for that one commented-out #WRKDIST line which
you have already fixed locally so that's fine now.

Can this be committed independent from the py-qt5 updates? (I think so,
since this is just a minor Qt update so it shouldn't contain
any/many API changes.) If so, OK caspar@
