Hi!
Every time I try to start playback in Amarok I get the error:

Audio output unavailable; the device is busy

No other application is using the sound device when this happens.
Kaffeine, which also uses libxine, plays audio very well.

This is on a ThinkPad T60 which has an Intel HDA sound card.

spaceman% dmesg | grep azalia
azalia0 at pci0 dev 27 function 0 "Intel 82801GB HD Audio" rev 0x02:
irq 11 azalia0: host: High Definition Audio rev. 1.0
azalia0: codec: Analog Devices AD1981HD (rev. 2.0), HDA version 1.0
azalia0: codec: 0x14f1/0x2bfa (rev. 0.0), HDA version 0.9
azalia0: codec[1]: No support for modem function groups
azalia0: codec[1]: No audio function groups
audio0 at azalia0

I also tried to edit the port's Makefile to remove the --without-arts
configure switch but arts output didn't show up in the list after I
built Amarok with arts support.

Perhaps libxine tries to open several audio streams at the same time, I
don't know.

Does anybody have a clue?

Best regards,
Jona
