Before I spend too much time trying to patch things manually, I wanted to ask:
- Is there any known reason Node.js 20 was dropped from the 7.7 ports?

It wasn't. We maintain one version of lang/node in ports, and that
version was upgraded to 22.x

- Would it be feasible to port it forward from the 7.6 tree?

Probably. I haven't tried (and won't try), but...

- If so, are there known blockers or incompatibilities I should be aware of?

... I don't think there are any. The last version of NodeJS 20 we had in
ports was 20.18.0, and that will probably build on OpenBSD 7.7, possibly
with small adjustments.
