This is a straightforward port of libarchive 2.3.4, a library for
creating and reading several streaming archive formats, including
most popular tar variants. It also includes the bsdtar frontend,
which has been FreeBSD's tar(1) for some time.

There is one complication: Our old groff can't format the man
pages. My current solution is to install pre-formatted cat pages
(like in the base system), formatted on a FreeBSD box and provided
in an additional distfile. There are funny parts in the port
Makefile to facilitate this.

I guess rewriting the mdoc markup would be possible, but when I
originally consulted jmc@ about this he failed to encourage me. :-)

Arguably the port should be called "bsdtar" since the program is
probably of greater interest to us than the library. Also, I have
stuck with the default and not enabled the unfinished bsdcpio.
