Not quite enough. The below passes regress on my m1. Would be nice if
someone with a bti-capable machine could run regress.

with this diff, afaict regress runs fine on arm64/bti (Oryon r2p1). grep
-i fail in the test run log doesn't yield anything, and i don't have a
specific error code at the end of the run.
