Hi Otto, Thanks for maintaining the dnsdist port. We run it on OpenBSD for DNS routing at the University of Toronto, and the 2.1.2 package has been working well with a Lua configuration.
I was hoping to move to the YAML configuration format introduced in dnsdist 2.0, but the packaged build doesn't include it: # dnsdist --check-config -C /etc/dnsdist/dnsdist.yml msg="Fatal error" error="YAML configuration is not supported by this build of dnsdist" subsystem="main" ... As I understand it, the YAML support is written in Rust and is an optional build feature, which presumably explains why it is off. Would it be feasible to enable it in the port, either by default or as a separate flavour (for example "yaml", alongside "h3")? I realize that pulling in Rust as a build dependency limits the architectures it can build on, so a flavour might be the cleaner option. I'm happy to test a diff or a snapshot package on: 8.0 i386 and report back.
