Johan Malm, who provides code for x11/jgmenu and wayland/labwc, has generated a freedesktop compliant labwc-menu-generator. The code is packaged in the Debian Testing ecosystem and I tested it in Devuan. It currently does not append or prepend menu items, like jgmenu, but it was easy to edit/paste in the xml code block.
labwc-menu-generator can either generate static menus or can be piped in labwc for a dynamic menu. Is there interest in an OpenBSD port? -- J. Scott Heppler
