Hi, I pulled out my alpha and hppa out of the dust, and found gettext breaking linking with message:

To make alpha/hppa happy, the patch to the xstring-desc.h file is enough. Then to also keep amd64 happy, the second patch to the .c file is necessary as well. I'm not 100% sure, why the other places in the .h file "just work" with the other Macro? While there, regen some of the patches. feedback, or even OK welcome. cheers, Sebastian -- https://buzzdeee.reitenba.ch
