Probably not ideal for large browser builds like librefox, but -- now that we have multiple virtual cpu support in vmm(4) -- you could run a vmm/vmd VM for your -stable build environment. No additional hardware required. The multiple vcpu support is new as of 8.0-release, so it wasn't really an option previously. Seems like a great way to help stress-test that important, new, vmm(4) functionality and provide feedback if you're able to break it. You can also do some run-testing, though sans hardware acceleration if you configure an Xvfb(1) display and vnc: <https://marc.info/?t=168971120700002&r=1&w=2> I personally use x11vnc because it supports transitioning between xenodm login window and the user's session (a necessity for my WM port maintenance), but -- as Stuart pointed out at the time -- something like tigervnc would be preferable and more performant.
