Many KDE 3 apps get ported to KDE 4 these days, and as a result there
become more and more software with branches for both KDE versions.
KTorrent and KRename are good examples.

Should port hackers make port subdirectories like "kde3" and "kde4",
creating packages "xxx-kde3" and "xxx-kde4"? Or make fully different
port ("net/ktorrent-kde4")? Or add FLAVOR ("kde4")? Or hack port based
on it's version (for example, "3.2" goes for KDE 3, "3.3" and higher -
for KDE 4). Or even support KDE 3 only as long as it will be reasonable?
All those variants have pros and contras...

I'm asking now, far before release lock, because IMHO it's easier to
develop following a (good) standardized way from the start than changing
the rules all the road.
