I just tryed on -current. The volume bar is in the correct place. I
have not tried playing movies with th patched version. Vlc always
performs badly for me, with audio and video skipping :(

I could be convinced to try it, but last time i check i couldnt find:
* an alternative to mplayers -cache (i play off a slow NFS share quite often)
* an alternative to mplayers -framedrop
* an alternative to mplayers -autosync (otherwise sound is off and
video is jerky)
