I never used filezilla. But I do use KDE and Firefox and I always saw the behavior you describe. Unfortunately, it seems to happen randomly and was never able to find a way to reproduce it... at least not always: right after starting KDE, when launching Firefox, and moving the window around before the complete ui is loaded *may* reproduce the issue sometimes.
