Maybe I'm stupid, but ports 4.3 up-to-date : www/tidy ends thusly:
/Python-2.5.2 -L/usr/local/lib -ltk84 -ltcl84 -lX11 -o
build/lib.openbsd-4.3-i386-2.5/_tkinter.so
make: don't know how to make ./Lib/plat-openbsd4. Stop in
/usr/local/ports/lang/python/2.5/w-Python-2.5.2/Python-2.5.2.

I'm stupid. Apparently I'd killed a build and there were residua. make
clean and make install
worked fine. D'oh.
