Is kqemu in sync with your kernel version ? try rebuilding kqemu with your kernel source.
if that doesn't help, try loading kqemu after boot, so that you can unload it and try again. btw, i think this package should have a special versioning scheme that includes kernel version. otherwise, if you update the system and forget to update kqemu, you're likely to experiment troubles.
