I'm running GIMP 2.6.2 (no_gnome-no_python) right now on macppc -snapshot[1]. As you can see build time is also important to me on mypretty old g4 ibook.
True, but that won't gain much sympathy here, because users are expected to use the binary packages that are provided. Why do you want to wear out your old g4's hard disk, anyway? :-)
