Result: Success!
I have tested the diff you attached in your email below and found it
working in my setup. My setup includes detecting my IP from
zoneedit/checkip and updating my DNS with zoneedit. I have tested under
a 4.5 snapshot as well as under stable versions of 4.3 and 4.4.
