Is anyone using the pdf filter of kword? I spent a couple of hours
trying to merge the latest xpdf bug fixes into the copy of xpdf
shipped with koffice (based on xpdf-2.0), but the more I tried, the
more mess appeared.
koffice-1.6 is basically unmaintained, there are no upstream security
patches available, and the copy of xpdf included in koffice is
really outdated (and it contains much more severe bugs than the
latest xpdf patch fixes).
I can waste even more time on it, but I'd really prefer to just
disable the pdf filter for kword for now. This xpdf merges are no
fun at all and stop me from working on some stuff I'm really
interested in.
Ciao,
Kili
ps: after reading several diffs and sources of different versions
of xpdf, be it the original xpdf, be it poppler, be it all the
diverging copies of xpdf included in (at least) koffice, kdegraphics
and texlive, I'm not sure wether the Adobe/Acrobat PDF reader is
the worst implementation on the planaet.
