hi there,

here is a work in progress for automake 1.11 against autoconf 2.62.
the next step could be upgrading autoconf to 2.65 but
i got lost in it somewhere :] (it's a terrifying piece of software)

i replaced the previous regress with its internal test suite,
most of the tests passed/failed as expected but they are still running,
they are dog slow. maybe someone with a faster machine could run
through them as well, and help out with the traces of the failed ones.

copy the attached directory into automake/ and add

SUBDIR+=1.11

to the Makefile. please test and comment.
