I built a debug version of thunderbird 3 for i386.
I have not been able to get it to run in gdb as Larry suggested.
(I have solved all the previous issues with sending and receiving mail)

It still crashes very badly at "random?" points during sending mail.
It will not properly thread as far as I can tell

I have kept old profile and created a new profile.
In new profile:
It will not properly make subfolders for Inbox
These subfolders get flung around, copied, etc.

I have 6 different email addresses I use.

I also could not get message filters to work in new profile
progress bar at bottom tended to stay running forever in new profile
(until quit)

FWIW, I never had any serious problems with previous thunderbird
Any advice on how to proceed would be appreciated.

Chris Bennett

Older messages: (dmesg at bottom)

Of course. But I can't get it to run in gdb.

Fall back to console means dropping out of scrotwm and all running
programs in X.
Seriously, is there a correct way to describe this?

Firefox always shows up like this. (not just for this particular
problem)
One of previous times said thunderbird crashed.
