rxvt-unicode by default falls back to "rxvt-unicode" which is an
unsupported terminal type:

$ su -
Password:
tset: unknown terminal type rxvt-unicode
Terminal type?

So, if I cannot stay with application defaults, I'd prefer to use "xterm".
